What happens to enormous truck tarpaulins after they no longer fulfil the function of advertising on the road? Concreeto, a long-standing Trayler customer, knows what to do with them. The tarpaulins which once graced Dutch roads have been given a new purpose. In cooperation with Vanhulley the old materials are recycled into new and useful products.
An honest future
Vanhulley is a sustainable and social enterprise with a heart of gold. They offer women distanced from the labour market a one-year apprenticeship programme. During this year, the women are given the chance to develop themselves, after which they are given a fair chance to enter the labour market. Vanhulley's pathway rests on five pillars:
- For one year, the women will receive training
- Vanhulley's women get help with language
- They broaden their network through events
- The women get experience in workforce skills
- Doing what you love and what you are good at: Vanhulley supports talent development
The Vanhulley women transform old materials into new products. From shoppers to kitchen aprons, and from pencil cases to laptop sleeves, the women turn their hand to nothing.
A new beginning
The collaboration between Concreeto and Vanhulley has resulted in a wonderful project: recycling old truck tarpaulins into more than 130 stylish shoppers. These personalised Concreeto shoppers are a fun and personalised gift for their employees. In addition, the Vanhulley women have also added a personal touch, making the items with love and care. Watch the video below for Concreeto and Vanhulley's story.
Circularity the new norm
Vanhulley and Concreeto's initiative illustrates the growing importance of circularity in our economy. Instead of a linear model in which products are thrown away after use, we strive for a circular economy in which raw materials are reused and recycled. By giving old materials a new life, we not only reduce waste and pollution, but also encourage social inclusion and economic growth. Sustainable business at its best!
Trayler as a partner in sustainable transition
The story of Concreeto, Vanhulley and Trayler is an inspiring example of how businesses and civil society organisations can work together to bring about positive change. Trayler values the circular life cycle of our truck tarpaulins. The collaboration we have entered into with Vanhulley helps us to make an impact. Through creativity, collaboration and a commitment to sustainability, we can make a difference not only in today's world, but also for generations to come.
