the future is circular
Trayler & Vanhulley breathe new life into old truck tarps
A circular economy requires sustainable thinking and action. But with good will, creativity and cooperation, you soon arrive at fun, sustainable solutions. For example, Trayler has teamed up with Vanhulley to transform old truck tarpaulins into new products. Think of a shopper, laptop sleeve or kitchen apron with your own design or logo. And in consultation, much more is possible: super fun right? Just goes to show that a circular economy can be a lot of fun. But this project has more positives...
Fair opportunities for a fair future
Vanhulley offers women distanced from the labour market a one-year apprenticeship programme. Vanhulley gives these women a fair chance in the labour market to actively participate in our society. Besides contributing to a circular economy, the apprenticeship programme relies on 5 strong pillars, namely:
- (speak (better) Dutch
- an intermediate vocational education at level 1
- gaining work experience, including making new products from ‘old’ materials
- expanding your social network
- talent development: gaining knowledge about who you are, what you like and what you are good at
From a bin to a laptop sleeve
The Vanhulley women can turn ‘old’ materials like truck tarpaulins into 101 new things. From bin to laptop sleeve. And from shopper to pencil case. The women really don't turn their hand to anything. What they make can be used every day. At home or at the office. And how much fun is it to turn your old truck tarpaulin into a kitchen apron with your truck design on it? Want to make it even more fun? Then how about a gift wrap? You can hardly give away something more original.
Concreeto sets a good example
Concreeto had its truck tarpaulins recycled by Vanhulley into handy shoppers. Daily usable bags for all employees in Concreeto's house style. Circularity plays an important role at Concreeto and with this order they manage to reuse their truck tarpaulins in a fun way. Together, we combat waste of old, but usable, materials and complete the ‘circular’ circle. Good news right?
